The award was presented during the Annual General Meeting and Foundation Day celebrations of the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) held at the National Agricultural Science Complex (NASC), New Delhi.

The NAAS–Dhanuka Awards for Excellence in Agricultural Extension are among the most respected recognitions in the agricultural extension system of the country. Instituted jointly by the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences (NAAS) and Dhanuka Agritech Ltd., the awards recognize outstanding contributions made by Krishi Vigyan Kendras, Agricultural Technology Application Research Institutes (ATARIs), and extension professionals in promoting scientific agriculture, technology dissemination, farmer outreach, and sustainable agricultural development.

KVK Anantnag earned this distinguished recognition following a rigorous national evaluation process that assessed excellence in technology transfer, innovation in extension methodologies, capacity building, farmer-centric programmes, adoption of scientific farming practices, and measurable impact on agricultural development.

The award reflects the relentless efforts and unwavering commitment of the KVK team in empowering the farming community through innovative extension activities, skill development programmes, frontline demonstrations, entrepreneurship promotion, and dissemination of improved agricultural technologies.
