A noble concept, rooted in soil.
"From the laboratory, to the farmer's field."

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Anantnag was established by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) in March 2012 at Nowpora, Dooru, Anantnag. Functioning under the aegis of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K), the Kendra serves the entire district of Anantnag.
KVK acts as a vital link between agricultural research and the farming community by assessing, refining, and demonstrating technologies under local conditions. It promotes the transfer of scientific knowledge and best practices in agriculture and allied sectors, including horticulture, animal husbandry, floriculture, beekeeping, and mushroom cultivation.
Through training programmes, frontline demonstrations, advisory services, and capacity-building initiatives, KVK empowers farmers, rural youth, and extension personnel to adopt innovative and sustainable farming practices.
